Liesa in the Media
Since her early childhood Liesa Scott was not intimidated by other people. Ever since she was four years old she stepped in front of crowds without hesitation. She was aware early in her life that it was a beneficial ability. When she was raising her children she participated in TV movies and motion pictures with them and gained greatly from the experience (two of her children had big parts in stage plays). One of the motion pictures the family participated in was “Inside the Whale”, produced by the young Doris Doerrie, who became a famous international producer.
In 1996 Liesa was desperately looking for an opportunity
to practice spoken sophisticated English. Her job
and private life didn’t offer many chances
for communication. Her strong desire to improve her
language skills and an odd twist of fate led to her
becoming the producer and hostess of her own TV show “The
Liesa Scott Show” in Seattle. Her friend Barry
Keech, an attorney at law, became her long-term
co-host . To work with her established crew behind
the camera
was delightful and easy. Tonia Surfice became her
director and was only 17 years old when she composed
and performed the music for Liesa’s opening
sequence. The show was a successful and enjoyable
endeavor.
Liesa produced and aired over 82 weekly shows in the following 5 years. The shows were 30 minutes long, there was never a script just a topic, and only a very limited budget.
In 1999 Liesa was the author and publisher of her first book “USA for Ladies? Oh Yes!“ and was flown into Hamburg Germany by the NDR television station. Her part as a guest at the famous 2 hour talk show “Herrman & Tietjen” was aired twice all over Europe because she generated great interest in life in these United States. She spontaneously agreed to an interview request on the afternoon show the day prior. In the talk show Liesa’s fellow guests were famous movie stars, rock musicians and the German secretary of defense Volker Ruehe. It was a great success and Liesa received tons of enthusiastic fan mail.
In 2004 Liesa was looking for an opportunity to market her second book “Dating for Commitment™”. She contacted a radio station in Seattle to discuss advertisement and unexpectedly became the producer and radio personality of a weekly talk show “Liesa on Living”. It was aired right after the Bill O’Reilly program and the show ran several months.
In 2006 Liesa was hired for a bi-lingual part in a TV commercial for Microsoft. Her part was to play a frumpy middle age German hausfrau who pretends to be a flight controller at the airport in Frankfurt. It was a funny experience for Liesa and she loved playing the part of being hooked to the international video game “Flight Simulator” from Microsoft because it was so contrary to her own reality.
Liesa thinks that the media can be a great tool to educate, inform and connect people, provided that high standards and ethics are being applied. Regardless of all the excitement and opportunities to sparkle in the media Liesa Scott treasures her privacy and insists on living a quiet and peaceful life where fame is flattering but personal conduct is what really counts.
